Special Sauce

A mish-mash of twisted thoughts from a fevered ego. Updated when the spirit moves me, contents vary and may have settled during shipping. Do not open towards eyes. Caution: Ingestion of Special Sauce may cause hair loss, halitosis, and a burning sensation while urinating.

Ceci n'est pas un chat

And mad props to anyone who gets the joke I'm aiming for in the title.

This is not actually Fat Elvis. I suspect strongly that it is one of the cats that was brought in with him, and is probably his "sister". The people at the shelter said there was an "aunt" and some kittens, and had called him "poppa" (ugh- insert your own Barbara Streisand jokes here). They're the same age, and look identical, except "aunt mia" (as they called her) has a dab of white on her neck. Fat Elvis is coal black. When we get the pictures back, I'll show you the real him.

He's sitting at my feet right now, which I consider an achievement. I didn't even have to coax him out from behind the desk, he just wandered out. Also? He loves the 'nip. I knew he was Elvis material.

Yay for Magritte fans! Ceci n'est pas un dork. Oh, wait...yes I am. Now you've got me thinking of Pierce Brosnan. Yes, I liked that movie. Yes, I know it was a pretty crappy remake of a classic. No, I don't care.

Aunt Mia is gorgeous; I can't wait to 'meet' Elvis. What does he do when you give him 'nip? My girl cat freaks out and starts attacking everything/everyone. Not fun, and I have the ankle scars to prove it. Catnip is officially banned from my house.

Glad to hear that your new baby is being friendly.

Ceci n'est pas un pipe. Ceci n'est pas Special Sauce.

The not-FVElvis pic is cute, which leads me to believe the real-thing pic will be precious.

Hooray for art geeks!

Elvis is actually a little fatter than Aunt Mia, but equally adorable. Heh. He's going to the vet this afternoon, so we'll see how much he still likes me. (Though he did jump on the couch and "talk" yesterday.)

So far, this day has been uneventful, but I am craving (and indulging said craving) glorified rice. Mmm. Cancer Cherries.

OK, I have never taken a cat to the vet and had them be so absolutely freaking mellow. Not a PEEP out of him. I tossed him some 'nip, and a mousie, and he was as content as could be. Even calmed down by the end of the vet visit- Doc Haver's a little loud, so he was a bit freaked, but otherwise- he's cleared to visit with the other critters, when he's comfortable.

And what does the 'nip do to him? Well, he likes to bite it, then run around and chase his tail a few times, roll around and show his belly, and skritch across the floor, then about 2 minutes later, he totally blisses out. Lather, rinse, repeat. Really, really funny. I'll have to weed around our catnip plants, so they grow better. Hee!

That was the MK's exact response to the vet...didn't get out of the carrier until the time for the vet to see him (he saw the other two first since MK was chillin'), didn't make a sound, got off the table and picked a spot next to my feet until we were done talking about EK's butt issues.

Yay for Elvis! Viva le Roi!
